2026 Phantom Regiment Alumni Corp.

On August 7, 2026, Danny Speed, pastor of Magnolia and Adams United Methodist Churches, along with 554 other alumni, participated in the 2026 Phantom Regiment (Rockford, Ill) Alumni Corp. at Lucas Oil Stadium, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Danny originally marched in the snare line with Phantom Regiment in 1981. Drum Corp International invited Phantom Regiment Alumni to perform as the exhibition corp at the close of semifinals that night. Danny was a part of the drum line, which is the largest drum line to ever take the field at DCI, with 32 snares, 12 quads, 10 basses and 1 cymbal player along with 15 other percussionist in "the pit."

Danny said the experience was one of a lifetime. In the snare line, the range of years marched spanned six decades from 1976 to 2025. It was amazing, said Danny, of this experience.

Along with getting to see old friends from 45 years ago, to the opportunity to meet the "new kids" who most recently marched with Phantom Regiment was special.

To share in this experience with an organization like Phantom Regiment that has a common goal and heart which continues to resonate with successive generations is wonderful.
