Barbara Ellen Dunaway

Barbara Ellen Dunaway, 76, of McComb, passed away October 7, 2026 at SWRMC in McComb.

She was born on February 28, 1950 in Florida. She is the daughter of the late Arthur Trayal and Nita Wharton Trayal.

She worked as a waitress for some time and stayed strong in her Pentecostal faith throughout her life. Barbara was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Barbara enjoyed reading in her free time, and playing games on the computer.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Richard, Danny, and Benny; as well as her sister, Ferner Fae Phelps.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Chad Dunaway (Ashley) and Richard Stephens. She also left behind 1 sister, Jackie Johnson and her beloved granddaughters; Lexie Hoggatt (Andrew) and Dallas Stephens, who gave her 4 great grandchildren; a special niece Rebecca J. Stevens and a special nephew, Jody Johnson, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews and cousins.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all those who love her.

Visitation was held on October 12, from 12PM to 1:30PM, with graveside service following at Pike Memorial Garden at 2:00PM.

Pallbearers were Jody Johnson, Frank Coleman, Dustin Bowman, Kayden Ritchey, Robert Wilkinson and Skip Stevens.
