Bonnie Budd, of Summit, MS, passed away on May 12, 2025 at the age of 83, surrounded by family and friends.
Bonnie was born in McComb on July 29, 1941 to Perry Smith and Ruth Farnham Smith. She graduated from McComb High School in 1958. She went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dallas in 1998 with a degree in business and worked in accounting at AAFES. She retired in 2008 after 20 years of devoted and faithful service. She was a member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church of Bogue Chitto.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Hux; her daughter, Sonia Ashley (Tim); daughter-in-law, Vicki Bearden; 6 grandchildren, Kristina Molnar, Dawn Stokes, Kayla Perkins, Diana Hogan, Alyssa Valadez, and Cage Ashley; great nephew Logan Hux, and great niece Laney Hux; and numerous greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Naylon Smith, Jimmy Smith, James Smith, and Thomas Smith; and 2 sisters, Irene O’Neal and Bonita Lejune; and her son Robert Earl “Robbie” Bearden.
Bonnie was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at 11AM, at Moak’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, with Brother Gabe Krell to officiate. In leu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
