Charlotte A. “Shug” Phillips 1949 - 2025

Charlotte A. “Shug” Phillips, 75 of McComb, passed away February 8, at the SMRMC. She was born Monday, July 18, 1949 in Okinawa, Japan. “Shug” retired as a Civil Service Employee after 43 years of service. She loved her family, friends and two little chihuahuas, Rocky and CoCoa who she would often drive to the lake front of Lake Pontchartrain when she lived in Mandeville, LA. She was a member of the Church of The King and served quite often as a door greater. She always jokingly said “God had blessed her with the gift of gab”. She was preceded in death by her father, Farest W. Gibson; mother, Myrtle B Sanders Hancock; 2 sisters, Helen R. Gibson Smith, Carol E. Gibson Chapman.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Crystal J. Phillips Duval; granddaughter, Corinne Duval; 2 sisters, Juanita L. Gibson McKenzie (Thomas G.), and Joy L. Gibson Steele (Robert E.); and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Holmesville Batist Church in Pike County, MS. Sharkey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
