Connie Esch Alford 1946 - 2025

Connie Esch Alford, 79, a resident of Magnolia, passed away on July 17, 2025 at SMRMC surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation was held July 21, 2025 at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home from 8AM until 10AM. A graveside service was held at 10:30AM at Hillcrest Cemetery in Tylertown. Rev. Trent Bilbo did officiate and Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Connie was born on April 8, 1946 to the late Charles and Violet Withers Esch in Wichita, Kansas.

Connie graduated from South Pike High School class of 1964 in Magnolia. She was athletic and excelled in basketball and track.

She worked for McMillian Blodel, which later became Weyerhaeuser, for over 30 years as a secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Magnolia, MS. Connie was involved with the Brownie Troop and Girl Scouts when her daughters were little. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and spending time with her many dogs over the years. She especially loved baking sugar cookies and cupcakes with her grandchildren. She instilled a hard work ethic in her daughters and her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 33 years, Ralph G. Alford; and her daughter, Kristie Alford Coppock.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Alford Bullock (Todd); son-in-law Frank Coppock; 6 grandchildren, Edward “Corey” Wheeler, Jr. (Stella), Kyle Wheeler (Haley), Marisa Coppock (Brandon), Grace Coppock, Jared Bullock (Taylor), and Hannah Bullock Scruggs (Mike); 8 great-grandchildren, Annabelle Wheeler, Anastasia Wheeler, Andrew Wheeler, Grady Wheeler, Julius Rohrbacker, McKenzie Scruggs, Maddie Scruggs, and Emerson Bullock; 5 brothers, Don Esch (Carol), Robert Esch (Ann), Larry Esch (Linda), David Esch, and Rick Esch (Lisa); sisterin-laws Deloris Bitting (Jim) and Kaye Roberts (Wiltz); brother-in-law Jimmy Alford (Carol Ann); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to St. Luke Home Health for the years of service taking care of Ms. Connie; especially Hospice Compassus in making her transition comfortable and peaceful.

Pallbearers will be Frank Coppock, Lamar Cook, Mike Scruggs, Kyle Wheeler, Jared Bullock and Edward “Corey” Wheeler Jr.
