Danny Carrol Whittington

Danny Carrol Whittington 1950 - 2025 Danny Carrol Whittington, 75, a resident of Summit, passed away on August 2, 2025 at his residence. A graveside service will be held Saturday Aug 23, at 10AM at Whittington Cemetery. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Danny was born on May 30, 1950 to the late Alvie Rushea and Rosa Dickerson Whittington.

Danny was a retired Merchant Marine and a member of Istrouma Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA. He was a true patriot, a man of great faith and a prayer warrior. He was a giver of himself and a great care-taker to his mother and father. He was a member of the NRA and active as a civic advocate. He enjoyed Classical and Jazz music and he was a licensed HAM operator. He loved his dog “Penny” and “Kitty” the cat. He truly will be missed by those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Alvie Benton and Velma Elizabeth Wilkinson Whittington; and also his maternal grandparents, Thomas Martin and Mary Beavers Dickerson.

He is survived by a host of cousins who loved him like a brother.
