Donald Ray Magee, 61, a resident of Mendenhall, formerly of McComb, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on August 12, 2026.
Visitation was held on August 17, at New Heights Baptist Church from 5PM to 8PM, and continued on August 18, from 9AM until services at 11AM. Dr. Jim Futral and Dr. David Millican did officiate and burial was at Hollywood Cemetery. Hartman~Jones Funeral Home of McComb was in charge of arrangements.
Donald Ray was born on January 17, 1965 to his parents, the late Joe Magee and Jan Yarbrough McGroom. He was a special needs adult who touched the lives of so many people in his life and made everyone around him smile with his infectious grin and winning the hearts of everyone he met. He attended Central Baptist Church. He was a member of Miss Mattie's Favorite Few Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of McComb and a member of her musical group the Joy Bells. He was an active participant in many activities including Wednesday Friends, Helping Hands, McComb Miracle League, Special Olympics Basketball, Camp Sunshine, Night to Shine of the Tim Tebow Foundation, Arc of Southwest MS, and Boswell Regional Center Day Services in Magee, MS. Donald Ray will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother David Magee; his paternal grandparents Eldridge Magee and Evie Magee Taylor; his sets of maternal grandparents Louis Yarbrough and Ouida Yarbrough Stapleton, and Jimmy Haffey and Marie Haffey; and a special aunt and uncle Ina and Wayne Magee.
He is survived by his mother, Marcia Magee; his sister and brother-in-law Sharron and Joe DiGiovanni; 2 nieces Melissa Smith (Chris "C.J."), and Ashley Parta (Dustin); 2 great-nephews Ethan and Mason Parta; and 2 great nieces Jewel Marie and Josie Grace Smith; along with many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to McComb Miracle League P.O. Box 878 Summit, MS 39666. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Donald Ray's beloved caregivers with AccentCare Hospice, Rick, Jennifer, and Amber.
Pallbearers were Steven Scott Clark, Kade Boone, Shane Boone, Sam Marsalis, Josh Lofton, and Jared Waller.
