Elsie Haygood, 85, a resident of McComb, MS passed away at Aston Court Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family. A visitation was held at Hartman Jones Funeral Home, on May 6, from 5PM until 8PM, and continued...

Elsie Haygood, 85, a resident of McComb, MS passed away at Aston Court Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation was held at Hartman Jones Funeral Home, on May 6, from 5PM until 8PM, and continued May 7, from 9AM until services at 11AM. Dr. David Millican did officiate and burial was at Hollywood Cemetery.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents T.J. Whittington and Etta Davis Whittington; her husband R. Davis Haygood, Sr; her son Kenneth Lee Whittington; her great-granddaughter Annie McDaniel; 2 sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by her 2 daughters Robin McDaniel (Terry) and Sherry McDaniel; her son Davis Christopher Haygood (Alison); her daughter-in-law Danyelle Whittington; 9 grandchildren Terri Anne Clements (Michael), Sam Haygood, Zak McDaniel (Lindsey), Austin Whittington, Tanner Whittington (Hannah), Gavin Whittington (Madisen), Greta Whittington, Tristan Whittington, and Tryton Whittington; 7 great-grandchildren Kate Clements, Emma Grace Clements, Ainsley McDaniel, Tripp McDaniel, Nolan Whittington, C.J. Whittington, and Amelia Whittington; also special to her heart, R. Davis Haygood, Jr., Michael Haygood, William Haygood, Eric Haygood, and Anthony Haygood along with their families.

Elsie was born on May 27, 1940 to her parents in Amite County. She was an active member of South McComb Baptist Church and the Pike County Republican Party. She was known for her love of people and helping others. She spent many years in the antique business and estate sales, including being the owner of Whistle Stop Antiques and Estate Sales. Elsie loved dancing and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
