Esther Marie Johnson Alexander

Esther Marie Johnson Alexander, 82, of Bogue Chitto, passed away June 6, 2026 at KDMC in Brookhaven, surrounded by her loving family. Graveside services were held at 10AM on June 10, at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Lance Moak did officiate under the direction of Hartman Jones Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Daniel Moak, David Moak, Garrett McDonald, Cas Love, Tim Leonard, and Wayne Thornhill. Mrs. Alexander was born August 30, 1943 in Pike County to the late James Claiborn and Fannie Belle Hodges Johnson. Mrs. Alexander was a 1961 graduate of Johnston Station School in Summit. She worked many years in retail sales and made many friends along the way. She was a wonderful wife, mother, granny, sister, and aunt to many who loved her. She loved her family beyond measure. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Harold "Sonny Boy" Johnson, Carlous Earl Johnson, Clinton Johnson (Jeannette); sisters, Barbara Hoffman (John K), and Mary Ellen Cox (Morris). She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Glenn Alexander; daughters Veronica Moak and her husband Roger; Danna McDonald; grandsons Daniel Moak and his wife Cayla; David Moak and his wife Tracy; Garrett McDonald; granddaughter Sarah Marie Love and her husband Cas; great grandchildren Valen Moak, Charlie Love, Evelyn Love, Autumn Harris and her husband Cory, Alex Gerald, Logan Gerald; great-great granddaughter Amelia Harris; and numerous nieces, nephews,relatives and friends; and her dog Belle.
