Ethel Elaine Lilly Cooper, 95, a resident of Magnolia, passed away at McComb Community Center on July 23, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation was held on Monday, July 27, at Guiding Light Pentecostal Church from 5PM until 8PM, and continued Tuesday, July 28, from 10AM until services at 12PM. Rev. Jerry Terrell and Bro. Joseph Dykes did officiate and burial was at Lilly Cemetery. Hartman-Jones Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
Elaine was born in Amite Co., on June 16, 1931 to the late Jeffie Lee Lilly and Gussie May Johnson Lilly. She was a very devoted Pentecostal woman who loved the Lord and her family with everything in her. She was a very good cook and loved doing Sunday meals where everyone would come.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sons Jimmy Donald Cooper, William Clayton Cooper, and Kenneth Wayne Cooper; stepdaughter Delores Patterson; 1 granddaughter Tosha Cooper; 1 great-grandson Joseph Hensley; 2 daughter-in-laws Gloria Cooper and Joan Cooper; 1 son-in-law Wendell Byrd; 4 sisters Rudy Hodges, Leslie Burgess, Annie Rushing, and Jessie Cooper; 1 brother Thomas Lilly; and her beloved four-legged companion Angel.
Elaine is survived by 7 children Tony Cooper, Peggy Wilkinson (Don), Mike Cooper (Sandy), Robert Cooper (Nell), Judy Cooper (Binky), Nadine Byrd, and Joseph Cooper (Sybil); 200 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren whom she loved very much; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers were Clay Cooper, Philip Cooper, David Morgan, Robbie Cooper, Joe Cooper, and Brandon Bedwell.
