George Ashley Terrell, age 76, passed away on April 9, 2026 at Liberty Community Living Center after battling Alzheimer's. He was born on November 4, 1949 in Weatherford, Texas to the late James Samuel Terrell and Sally Reynolds Terrell.

George began his working career at Sears where he met his wife, Madolyn Hart Terrell. A marriage "sponsored by Sears" lasting 52 years. After leaving Sears, he began a career with Mississippi Department of Transportation's Law Enforcement Division that lasted 30 years. During that time, George was a firearms instructor for the southern part of the state, a position he excelled at and enjoyed very much. He retired as a Lieutenant in 2011 and turned his attention to knife making and building beautiful birdhouses, wooden spoons, shelves and whatever his girls asked for.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Ervin Terrell.

He is survived by his wife Madolyn; daughter Misty Terrell Brumfield and her husband Douglas; 2 very special granddaughters, Mackenzie Springstead and Madelyn Springstead; sister-in-law Virginia Hart Zeigler; nephews James Edward Terrell and his wife Mandi, and James Anthony Zeigler and his wife Stephania; nieces Theresa Terrell Dykes and Melisah Terrell Hester and her husband Jeremy; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held on April 13, at 10AM at the Terrell Cemetery located on Highway 567 near Liberty.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association MS Chapter at 207 West Jackson ST., Suite F, Ridgeland, MS, 39157.

The family would like to thank the staff at Liberty Community Living Center and Enhabit Hospice for their care and support.
