George Jackson

George Jackson, 89, of Bossier City, LA, passed away on March 19, 2026. Visitation was held on March 25, from 12PM until services at 2PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Osyka. Burial was in the church cemetery.

George was born on October 25, 1936 in Ville Platte, LA to the late George Scott Jackson, Sr. and Ethel Turnage Jackson Ivey. Following 10 years with the Marine Corps, his family moved to Melbourne, FL where he worked at the Kennedy Space Center and retired after 44 years. After retiring, they moved to Bossier City, LA in 2006.

He was preceded in death by his parents; along with his siblings Billie Jean Argus, Marylee Gordon, Charles Jackson and Jackie Jackson. He also was preceded by 1 great-grandchild Malachi Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marie Rhodus Jackson. They were married on May 26, 1955 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Tom Summerall. They have 3 children Gregory Jackson (Linda), Pamela Stahlin (Jim) and Michael Jackson (Nancy). George was a proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren Kristina, Ellen, Bryan, Joey, Charlotte, Logan, Gentry, and Graycen. He was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Turner, Bryan Jackson, Joseph Magno Jackson, Christian Maxie, Jim Sipes, and Tim Rhodus.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Tunnel to Towers at T&T.org or the Wounded Warrior Project.
