James O. "Jimmy" Blue 1950 - 2026 James O. "Jimmy" Blue, 76, of Summit, passed away on July 11, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 1PM until services at 2PM at the First Baptist Church of Summit with Dr. Larry LeBlanc officiating. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Jimmy was born in Hammond, LA, on June 6, 1950. He is the son of the late, Orville Napoleon and Margaret Papp Blue. Jimmy's greatest treasures in life were his faith, his family, the outdoors hunting and fishing and his LSU Tigers.
If you knew Jimmy, you knew he never met a stranger. He could visit with anyone, anywhere, and before long they were swapping stories like old friends. He loved the Lord with all his heart and spent countless peaceful hours sitting on his back porch, reading his Bible and enjoying God's creation.
Hunting and fishing weren't just hobbies to Jimmy---nothing brought him more joy than sharing those adventures with his grandchildren, teaching them the things he loved and making memories they will carry with them forever. Jimmy retired from ExxonMobil after many years of dedicated service. He truly enjoyed his work and treasured the friendships he built with the men and women he worked alongside.
Before his time at ExxonMobil, he proudly served with the Louisiana State Police and the Sheriff's Office. He loved telling stories from those years, always remembering the fellow officers who stood beside him and the experiences they shared. He was preceded by his parents; his former spouse, Earline Blue; and his daughter, Krissi Hastings.
He is survived by his wife of 15 happy years, Donna Pigott Blue; 2 sons, Brandon Knippers (Bethany) and Jason Ard (Joyce); 2 daughters, Brandy Blue and Stephanie King (Logan); 1 brother, Don Blue (Mary Ann); 1 sister Shirley Barton (A.K.); 12 grandchildren, Kali (fiance' Alex), Conner, Emma, Zoey, Dustin, Destiny, Clarissa, Piper, Brandon, Max, Hunter and Hudson (Hailey); 2 great-grandchildren, Kasen and Hadley; with numerous nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Summit building fund.
