Jerry W. Rayborn 1938 - 2025 Jerry W. “Mr. Brister” Rayborn, 87, a resident of Jayess, passed away on September 2, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, at Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale, from 6PM until 8PM. Visitation will resume Friday from 10AM until services at 11AM at the church. Rev. Brad Fitzgerald and Rev. James Sanders will officiate and burial will be in Greer cemetery. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jerry was born on March 21, 1938 in Walthall County, to the late, Herschel and Alma Day Rayborn.
Jerry retired after 27 years as owner-operator of Brister Store-Exxon in Jayess. Prior to that he was a machinist for the Railroad. He was a member of the National Guard and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale, in which he took part in building the church.
He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed working, helping people, gardening and raising chickens. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Dorothy Day Rayborn Townsend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy Brister Rayborn; 2 sons, Benjamin Chadwick Rayborn and Jeffery Anderson Rayborn (Tammy); 1 sister, Linda Easley (Doug); 9 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trey Rayborn, Dusty Smith, Garrett Rayborn, Jeffery Rayborn, Jarred Rayborn and Travis Easley. Honorary
Pallbearers will be the Coffee Club of Brister Store.
In Lieu of flowers donations may made to Calvary Baptist Church in memory of Jerry or to Greer Cemetery in care of Andy Rayborn cemetery keeper at Brister Store. Buddy “Rex” Boyd 1944 - 2025 Buddy “Rex” Boyd, 80, of Woodville, passed away at his residence on Friday, August 29, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation was held on September 3, from 10AM until services at 12 Noon at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb. Rev. Mark Wicker did officiate and burial was in Boyd Cemetery in the Salem Community. He was born on November 17, 1944, to Woodrow Wilson Boyd and Mary Merle Pittman of Tylertown. Buddy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to everyone.
