She was exceptionally driven, smart, gifted, athletic and a very hard worker. She excelled in everything she did: cheer, tumbling, academics and art. Nobody ever had to push her to be or do her best. Everything she did seemed to turn to gold. For the exception of track. Her Granddaddy wanted at least one of his grandchildren to run track like he did. She tried it in 7th grade and couldn’t stand it. She was very concerned about disappointing him if she didn’t pursue it. Of course, he understood and ‘let her off the hook’. She started tumbling in 3rd grade and quickly excelled, which led to her love and passion for cheer. She graduated from North Pike High School, 7th in her class, in 2014. She was on the cheer team at North Pike from 7th-12th grade, where she formed many friendships and bonds. After high school, she went to Copiah-Lincoln Community College on both cheer and academic scholarships, majoring in Mathematics, with plans to become an Algebra teacher and dreamed of becoming a high school cheer coach. While at Co-Lin, Kalie served as cheer captain, was on the Freshmen Homecoming court, and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Kalie graduated from Co-Lin with high honors and received the David Calcote Memorial Scholarship in 2016. She achieved all of this while working for the National Cheerleaders Association teaching cheer camps and working as a server at Georgia Blue in Brookhaven. She then went on to the University of Southern Mississippi in August of 2016. Within a few weeks of beginning classes, she became ill. In October of 2016, after being in the hospital for approximately a month, she was diagnosed with a rare and incurable auto immune disorder called Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO). This illness led to psychological, mental, and behavioral changes. From that point on, she had many life struggles, but the love of and for her family and friends never wavered. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Don L. Green and Bob and Ella Joy Jones Freeman; and g r e a t - g r a n d m o t h e r , Frances Deer. Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Damon and Heather Green and Angela and Shelton Simmons; sister, Alex Coker (Logan); brother, Mason Green; grandparents, William and Marie Schilling and Pamela Mercier; great-grandmother, Eva Nell Green; a special aunt, Karen Freeman; and a special cousin, Amy Freeman Tadlock; and a host of more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends than can be listed. Pallbearers will be Michael Freeman, Eric Freeman, Bailey Jackson, Joe Jackson, Justin Schilling and Brian Schilling. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation to aid in finding a cure for NMO. Rickey “Rick” F. Watts 1956 - 2026 Rickey “Rick” F.
