Kyle Wayne Bass 1966 - 2025 Kyle Wayne Bass of McComb, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on November 19, 2025. A visitation was held Sunday, November 23, at West McComb Baptist Church from 5PM until 8PM, and continued November 24, from 9AM until services at 11AM. Bro. Hunter Wooldridge and Bro. Gene Douglas did officiate and burial was at Reeves Cemetery. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Kyle was born on March 18, 1966 in McComb, to Wayne and Dobbie Bass. He was a mischievous boy known for his pranks against everyone especially his sister Julie, his quick wit, and his ability to make anyone laugh. He loved to spend time with his grandmothers and learned many of his favorite things from them. Kyle learned to shoot and hunt from his Mawmaw Bass, and his Mawmaw Greer taught him everything he knew about the Lord.
Kyle was married to Susan Rush on May 20, 1989. They were 2 best friends who shared a loving marriage for 36 years full of laughs, travel, and a love that transcended every trial that came their way. Together they raised 2 daughters, Lindsey and Briana, and were blessed with a granddaughter, Lily.
Throughout their childhood, he coached basketball and softball and never missed a game, dance recital or showchoir performance. He was an incredible husband, father, and Pawpaw who would do anything for his girls and bragged on them any chance he got.
Of all of his qualities, Kyle was most proud to be a devoted follower of Christ. He was a cherished member of West McComb Baptist Church, who served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the puppet team, Steppup for Christ, and a champion of Upward basketball. Kyle deeply loved his church family and was honored to a part of it.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne.
He is survived by his wife of 36 loving years, Susan Rush Bass; his 2 daughters Lindsey (Jack) O’Brien and Briana Bass; his mother Dobbie Bass; his granddaughter Lily O’Brien; his sister Julie Bass; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kyle was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him, loved him, and he will never be forgotten.
Pallbearers were Jack O’Brien, Paul Rome, Javier Campuzano Jr., Michael Freeman, Chad Smith, and Allen Turnage.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West McComb Baptist Church Mission Fund, the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Stephanie Elkins and the entire UMMC BMT team.
