Linda D. Laird, 78, a resident of McComb, passed away on July 31, 2026 at Liberty Community Living Center. A visitation was held on August 4, at East Union Baptist Church from 8:30AM until services at 10AM. Bro. Wade...

Linda D. Laird, 78, a resident of McComb, passed away on July 31, 2026 at Liberty Community Living Center.

A visitation was held on August 4, at East Union Baptist Church from 8:30AM until services at 10AM. Bro. Wade Barnes did officiate and burial followed in Durham cemetery.

Linda was born on December 20, 1947 to the late Menton Darnell Durham and Hilda Coon Durham. She graduated high school from South Pike High School in 1966 and was a proud Bearcat! Her first job was a radio reporter, and was one of the first on the scene for the infamous Lynyrd Skynyrd airplane crash. She also was the first manager of the original Sonic Drive In. Linda was known as the Tupperware Queen! She became a CNA in the 1990s and sat with the elderly. She retired in 2021. She never met a stranger! She leaves a legacy of love and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband and father of her children Charles Laird; her son Richard Lee Laird; 2 brothers Bill Wayne Durham and Thomas Reeves Durham; and 1 sister-in-law Cathy Durham.

Linda is survived by her son John Laird (Cheryl); her life partner C.W. McKey; her brothers Menton Durham (Ann) and Clifton Ray Durham; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers were Brandon Lee Laird, Harold Smith, Jr., Melvin Patterson, Jr., Lee Thornhill, James Chisholm, Todd Laird, Blake Laird, and Sean Waites.
