Margaret "Evelyn" Hilton

M a r g a r e t “Evelyn” Hilton, 93, a resident of Camellia Estates in McComb, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2026. Visitation was held on June 1, at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb from 10AM until services at 12-Noon. Rev. Richard Cothern did officiate and burial followed at Terry Cemetery in Smithdale. Evelyn was born in Smithdale, on Aug. 13, 1932. She is the daughter of the late, Jack Smith, Sr. and Ethel Terry Smith. Evelyn was a past telephone operator and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Smithdale. She was a wonderful and loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt and friend. In her youth she enjoyed bowling and basketball, in her later years she enjoyed cross stitching and growing African violets. She also was a great cook, loved her church family and especially singing in the choir. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton Hilton; 1 brother, Jackie Smith, Jr.; 2 sisters, Alice Steele and Nellie Spring; and a grandson, Brandon Wells. She is survived by her son Stanley Hilton (Debbie); 1 daughter Beth Johnson (Scott); 3 grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley and Tara; 5 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Triston, Easton, Landyn and Dominick; a step-grandson Conner O. Quin; with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and a personal helper Susan Jackson.
