Margie Marie “Joyce” Boyd Smith 1938 - 2025

Margie Marie “Joyce” Boyd Smith, 86, of Purvis, formally of McComb, passed away April 8, 2025 at the Lamar Health Care and Rehab Center in Lumberton.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 25, at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 1:30PM until services at 2PM. Dr. David Millican will officiate and a private family burial will follow services. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce was born in Pike County, on September 15, 1938 to the late William T. “Speck” Boyd and Lucille Whittington Boyd.

Joyce was a homemaker and a member of Navilla Baptist Church during her childhood, then later the First Baptist Church of McComb. She went to Fernwood High School and was a member of Fernwood Country Club where she loved to play tennis. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel “Danny” Smith; her son, Steven Wayne Smith and his wife Donna; her granddaughter, Christy Smith; and her sister, Shirley F. Hales and her husband, Bobby.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” S. Carter and husband, Boyd; 2 grandchildren D.J. (Nicole) Preiss and Daniel (Kalyn) Preiss with 6 great-grandchildren.
