It was a wonderful day at Progress Baptist Church today with Joe Young and Ramona along with three of their granddaughters. Joe sang some beautiful songs after reading scripture or telling the history of who wrote them and why. The songs really touched our hearts. God has blessed this man and his music ministry for being able to bring to us the word in this way. Two of his granddaughter, Claire 13 and Chloe 10, sang “How Great Thou Art” with Joe backing them up. The girls have beautiful voices too. We can’t thank them enough for coming on this fifth Sunday to worship with us.

There was a baby shower on Saturday 30th for Gage and Morgan Strange. They have a good start for their baby boy.

We are making plans for an ice cream social in August and a Spaghetti cook off later.

Donna Ginn 77, sister of Jeanette Hall passed away on July 27th. Her funeral was in New Roads, La. Baptist Church. Burial was at Silver Creek Baptist Church cemetery. She is survived by 1 daughter, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, 1 sister (Jeanette) and 1 brother Wayne Smith.

Melissa Brock passed away on the 30th from cancer. I don’t have any other information as of this Sunday.

Seven year old Harper Hart came home from Boston’s Children’s Hospital on the 27th. With the surgery she had, we have truly seen a miracle. We thank Cindy Hyde Smith for helping to get this done.

Tammy Wheeler had a cat scan last week and will get results this week.

My daughter, Beverly Bankston, will have surgery on August 11th. That’s coming so fast. I hate to see my children having any kind of illness or surgery.

We have a lot of birthdays in the following week so our birthday wishes go to Mike Dunaway, Mark Hughes, Amy Lohr, Derek Lohr, Molly McDonough, Renee Ward, Shakey Simmons 7th; Cindy Brown, Austin Fortinberry, Tim King, my cousin Narine Knippers, great grandson Russ Dillon 8th; William Bird and Luke Fortinberry 9th; Lisa Alford and Ralph Stinson 10th; Steven Fortenberry, Susan Gauthreaux, Bonnie Hughes, Connie Taylor, Bud Waldron, great grandson Rowan Daigle 11th; Leigh Bird and Randall McKenzie12th; Rev. Woody Rimes on the 13th.

Charles & Jackie Davis celebrate their anniversary on the 10th. Congratulations to all of you.

Sinful actions don’t come out of nowhere, they’re the cumulative product of little moral compromises made over time, which ultimately result in ungodly behavior. On the other hand, it’s equally true that godly actions are the cumulative product of small, habitual, and Christ-honoring choices for righteousness.

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee. --- Jeremiah 31:3

Have a safe and blessed week, Aline.
