Hope you all had a wonderful Easter: the church services left you inspired and uplifted; the weather held off a little so the kids could hunt Easter eggs; and your house was filled with the love of family.

My daughter, Mary and her significant other, Dennis and my three wonderful grandchildren; Erin and her fiance, Josh Pittman, Victoria and Nick were here to fill our house with lots of love and fun. My back was so bad Sunday that I had to sit and watch as Phil, Dennis and Mary completed the preparation of our meal. It is a situation I am not comfortable in; I am supposed to get this all done along with a beautifully set dining table. Well, I sat and watched and we had a lovely dinner, even without my help.

Mary and Dennis had enjoyed a lazy, relaxing week at the beach at Fort Walton. I envied them the warm water and the bright sun. Phil and I need to take one of these trips soon.

Carmen Williams, former Raymond resident emailed me that she had had a fall in a restaurant in Conway, AR where she lives. I don’t believe she was hurt very badly. She had some good news to impart her son, Barry had been appoint Vice-President of Landscape Architecture with Crafton Tull. Congratulations to Barry.

Dr. Elizabeth Fike was home visiting her mother, Beth Ferguson Fike and Grandmother, Martha Ferguson.

Paula Stewart Strange had all her children and her grandchildren at home with her for Easter. That is really quite a happy house full.

I know many other families had lots of family and lots of fun for Easter.

Robert Culpepper’s brother (I’m sorry I don’t know his name) has purchased the house formally owned by Don and Judy Lacy. I understand they are making lots of changes to the interior of the old house. It is a lovely place just across from the Methodist Church on Main St. We old timers refer to it as the former home of Gov. John Bell Williams.

Robert Culpepper, has been called up. He is an Army Reservist. I am not sure where he is being deployed.

Kathy Rankin has been named to the Mississippi Teacher Advisory Council. Congratulations to Kathy being reward with respect for all her years of teaching.

Laura Hogan Teddar in her rambles across the country is not in Silver City, NM. She met an inspirational couple who have a cancer foundation and are going across the U.S. to spread the word. He is biking and is wife is following in their RV.

Bill Eaton walks around Raymond every morning and posts something of interest he has seen. It usually something pretty that he takes note of. This morning it was of a red fox strolling around town. Bill thinks he must have kits in the woods.

Phil and I had a wonderful visit with the Mayo boys. Will Mayo entertained with a bar-b-que dinner. We enjoyed visiting with Will, Bob and Catherine, and Buddy and Donna Mayo. Jay and Wanda Reeves also were apart of the group. The guys gathered together and laughed so much and so loudly. We girls also had a lot of fun talking.

It was especially great to visit with Buddy and Donna, who are not around all that much. I introduced Donna to Buddy a good many years ago. Donna dressed for her wedding to Buddy in the Raymond Methodist Church at my mother’s at 204 West Main Street.
