Robert (Bobby) Edward Scott of Sumrall, MS, peacefully passed away while at his home with his wife of 40 years, Wanda Scott, by his side on January 9, 2026 at the age of 90.
There will be a private memorial for family. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Bobby was born in McComb, on January 12, 1935.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Howard and Clydie Scott; as well as siblings Earl Lloyd Scott, Harold Scott & Dorothy (William) Evans; daughter, Rhonda Scott & daughter Neci (Danny) Lewis.
Bobby graduated from McComb High School in 1953. He then served 5 years in the National Guard and 7 years in the U.S. Army where he went on to become an officer & earn his pilot's license. He proudly served his country as an army pilot during the Vietnam War while stationed in Turkey.
He continued his career as a pilot with Delta Airlines for 23 years. In addition to his career with Delta, he also served 12 years as Captain of the Smyrna Fire Department in Hazlehurst. Bobby enjoyed being outdoors, hunting & tinkering with anything in his barn.
Bobby is survived by his wife; his children Robin (Mike) Herrington; Rebecca (Melony) Scott; Robby (Elizabeth) Scott; and Mike (Laurie) Diaz. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren.
He will be remembered by his family, friends & community as someone who dedicated his life to serving others & for his devout faith in Jesus Christ.
