Ruby Louise Pray 1927 - 2025

Ruby Pray, 97, passed away on January 7, 2025. Visitation was held from 11AM to 2PM on January 11, at Hartman-Jones funeral home with the life celebration and graveside services held immediately afterwards in Reeves cemetery. Rev. LaVern Summerlin and Bro. James Jackson did officiate.

Mrs. Pray was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a life-long resident of the Friendship community.

Aunt Ruby, as she was called by family and friends, was a retired educator that enjoyed many hobbies including doll collecting, sewing, growing plants, and ceramics. She was also an avid storyteller of family and community history.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. B. Pray.

She is survived by her sons Gaylon (Melinda), and David (Rene’); grandchildren Brandon (Emily) Pray, Nicholas Pray, Tyler Pray, Hannah Pray, and Christina Pray; great grandchildren Eden, Elijah, and Anna Grace; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at the Claiborne Assisted Living Facility in McComb for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Friendship Baptist Church. Randi D. Mohr
