Samuel Charles Hall 1961 - 2026 Pastor Samuel C. Hall, 64, of Magnolia, departed this earthly life on July 9, 2026, at his residence in Magnolia. Visitation is from 5PM to 7PM on Thursday, July 9, at Collins Grove Freewill Baptist Church, visitation continues Friday July 10, 10AM to 11AM at East Fernwood MB Church Rev.

Pastor Samuel Charles Hall was the first-born child of the late Reverend Eugene Hall and Mary born on December 28, 1961. "Pearl" Williams Hall. Sam was a devoted husband, pastor, father, papa, paw-paw, godfather, brother, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Eugene and Mary Lee Hall; Grandparents, motherin-law, Mildred Bates; father-in law, Woodrow Bates; 3 brothers, James and John Hall and Wilfus Bates; 1 sister, Rachel Prater. Sam was a 1979 graduate of South Pike High School. He furthered his education at the University of Southern Mississippi, the University of Mississippi, and Louisiana State University.

He began his working career at Popeyes Fried Chicken. After graduating from college, he went on to work at Trustmark and Pike County National Bank. After his tenure at Pike County National Bank, he embarked on his dream: CEO and Founder of First Unity Federal Credit Union.

He served as Pastor of Collin Grove Freewill Baptist Church and Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He was cofounder and a board member of The Boys and Girls Club of Southwest MS. He was elected as Supervisor - Pike County District 2.

He was also a member of the South Pike School Board. Sam was the co-owner of Car Quest Auto Parts, partner of Hall Brothers Auto Sales and High-Tech Auto Repair. His heartfelt desire was to help people.

He wanted to be able to help "those people" that just needed to get on their feet. Sam leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 44 years, Celester Bates Hall; 2 sons, Damarus (Presla) Hall, Danarus (Candace) Hall; 1 daughter, DeLorean Hall; 1 grandson, Damarus "Jr." Hall; 3 granddaughters, Makiya, Payton, and Paris Hall; 2 goddaughters, Randie Karol Wells, and CraNeisha Moses; 3 brothers, Dale (Brenda) Hall, Eric Hall, and Lawrence Oliver (Keisha) Hall; 3 sisters, Grace Hall Moses, LaKetha Hall, and Lanette (Casey) Washington. Extended siblings: 9 sisters, Yvonne Tate, Shanell Bates, Daphne Bates, Trudie (Marcus) Steptoe, and Val Bates Guilford, Naomi Bates, Mai Bates, Sheila Bates, and Lisa Ruff; 4 brothers, Nolan (Dorothy) Bates and Anthony Bates, Frederick Bates, Robert Prater; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
