Shelby Ray Morgan

Shelby Ray Morgan, 86, a resident of Jayess, passed away on January 5, 2026 at SMRMC.

Visitation was held at Hartman Jones Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 5PM until 8PM continuing on Saturday, January 10, from 9AM until services at 10AM. Dr. David Millican officiated and burial was at Pike Memorial Gardens. Hartman Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Lucas Paul Morgan, Gavin Drake Morgan, Delane Edwards, Brian Forrest Jr., Jon Davis York, and Steven Forrest.

Shelby was born on March 5, 1939 to the late Jessie and Tressie Mae Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 happy years, Gladys Morgan; his third son John Paul Morgan; and his siblings Pauline Morgan, John Pierpoint Morgan, Catherine Alexander, Maudine Alexander, James Morgan, and Yvonne Morgan.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Theron Ray Morgan and Thomas Kirk Morgan; 12 grandchildren Lucas Morgan, Gavin Morgan, Sapphire Ellis, Genevieve Ingraham, Rhaelynn Paige Morgan, Brian Forrest Jr., Steven Forrest, Meghan Forrest, Charles York, Fred York, Shannon York, and Candice York; 32 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
