CATHERINE BROWN Terry’s Creek News

A wonderful morning of worship as everyone gathered to worship our Lord and Savior last Sunday. After Sunday School, Dennis Lea, our Minister of Music, and the Choir presented the Christmas Cantata, Bethlehem Morning. Was a beautiful Cantata. After the cantata, everyone gathered in the Fellowship Hall for a bountiful meal. After the meal, the children and I should say adults also, enjoyed a visit from Santa Claus.

Our Golden Ager for the Week is Dr. David Millican, Camellia Estates, Hall E. Room 5, 1714 White Street, McComb, MS 39648, so remember him with a card or visit.

We will have the Observance of Our Lord’s Supper at 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, December 24.

I know there are a lot of Happy Children (and probably Teachers) as they will have a vacation from school for about two weeks for Christmas and New Year’s.

This is the time for our Lottie Moon Christmas offering, so remember to bring your offering.

Folks, some say they miss this column when it not in here, so if you do something and would share with us, be glad to include it in this column.

Last Saturday, we had a wonderful morning as we met at the Church for our “National Wreaths Across America Day Ceremony.” Joe Carpenter did a wonderful job of planning and getting this day together along with a lot of volunteers helping him. The weather was perfect. Tom Gunther was the Master of Ceremony and welcomed everyone. David McDaniel opened with prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Youth Group. David McDaniel sang the Star Spangled Banner . Tom Gunther introduced the Guest Speaker Col. Terri Dawn Neely. She gave a very interesting talk.

Placing of the Ceremonial Wreaths were by the Veterans. The “American Soldier” was by David McDaniel. Roll Call by the Veterans as each one read the names of the Veterans that served from our Church. Dennis Lea sang “God Bless the USA. Brent Robinson then played the “Taps. The Families placed the Wreaths on the Family Member graves that had served. Was a wonderful program and we appreciate all the work Joe Carpenter did in preparing for this program. God blessed us with a beautiful Sunshiny Day for this program.

Happy Birthday to Joe Carpenter Dec. 20.

Anniversary wishes to Victor and JoAnn Bankston December 21.

Heartfelt Christmas Let’s put our foolish pride away, Forget our cares for just one day. May hearts be lifted, voices ring In true praise for our Lord and King. Let’s gather with families and friends, And if there are problems, make amends. May we ask for forgiveness as gifts we bring Of ourselves to our Lord and King. Copied.
