The Flower Nook Helps Pike County Celebrate Life's Special Moments

For more than three decades, The Flower Nook has helped people throughout McComb and Southwest Mississippi celebrate birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, new babies, holidays, and many of life’s other meaningful occasions.

Located at 1406 White Street in McComb, the locally owned shop is operated by Kelly and Donald Hart. The Flower Nook offers much more than traditional floral arrangements.

Kelly opened the shop on May 1, 1990, while rearing two young daughters. One of her daughters was only 9 months old when the business began.

Despite the responsibilities of rearing a family and starting a new business, Kelly was motivated by something she had always enjoyed: working with flowers.

Kelly learned how to properly care for and preserve flowers from Myra Gay of Village Flowers in Summit. She admired Gay’s talent and entered the floral business hoping she could become “half as good” as the woman who taught her.

More than 36 years later, The Flower Nook remains an established part of the McComb community.

The shop provides floral arrangements for nearly every occasion. Customers can find something appropriate for celebrating an achievement, welcoming a child, comforting a loved one, or simply brightening someone’s day.

“We’re here for all your special moments!”

Kelly said.

Flowers are only one part of what customers can find inside the store. The Flower Nook also carries gift baskets, gourmet foods, jewelry, apparel, accent pieces, dinnerware, and a variety of gifts for different ages and occasions.

The store also includes a baby and children’s section, giving customers a convenient place to shop for baby showers, birthdays, new arrivals, and other family celebrations.

One of the shop’s most memorable offerings is its homemade fudge.

The fudge is amazing and makes a visit to The Flower Nook even more worthwhile.

The shop has also introduced a new flavor called “Chocolate Brownie Explosion,” giving customers another delicious reason to stop by.

Customers may visit looking for flowers or a gift; however, the fudge provides another incentive to browse the store and return again. It makes a thoughtful treat for someone else, although visitors may have a difficult time leaving without buying some for themselves.

The variety inside The Flower Nook makes it more than a place customers visit only when they need flowers.
