Veronica Laine Thomas, 60 of Magnolia, passed away March 13, at her residence. She was born Friday, May 1, 1964 in Magnolia.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 16, at 3pm at Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia.
Rev. Greg Whitehead and Rev. Richard Scoggins did officiate the services.
The Thomas family received friends on Sunday afternoon beginning at 1pm up until the hour of service at 3pm at Sharkey Funeral Home.
A lifelong resident of Magnolia, Veronica leaves behind a legacy of unwavering compassion and warmth. For 38 years, Veronica dedicated her life to nursing at Beacham’s Hospital and Magnolia Clinic in Pike County, where her kindness and skill touched countless lives. Veronica never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a comforting laugh, or share a warm meal. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who will forever cherish her loving memory.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Lou Blackledge; and her grandchild, Braylan Duplessis.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 28 years, Bobby Thomas; 2 sons, Corey Gerber (Whitney), Drew Gerber; 1 daughter, Angel Duplessis (Calvin); 5 grandchildren, Pierson Gerber, Trae Duplessis, Lynleigh Gerber, Lola Gerber, and Helen Gerber; 1 brother, Vincent Blackledge (Gilbert); 1 sister, Angie Blackledge; her fatherin-law, David Haynie and mother-in-law, Delaine Haynie. Mrs. Thomas was carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; they were Roman Holmes, Brian Mullins, Brent Mullins, Chris Owens, Jimmy Ray Phelps, and Mitch Nordstrom.
Honorary pallbearers were Luke Lampton and Wendell Hinton.
