William “Bill” C. Brown 1951 - 2025 William “Bill” C Brown, 74, a resident of Kentwood, LA passed away peacefully at his home on September 29, 2025. He was born on May 28, 1951 in Magnolia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Kentwood from 9 AM until Masonic Rites at 12 PM, memorial services will follow at 1 PM. Dr. Danny Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in East Fork Cemetery in Kentwood. Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Bill was a 1969 graduate of Kentwood High School and attended Southeastern University for a short period of time. In 1971 he enlisted in the Navy and served as a machinist mate on the USS Hull. His decorations included National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with one bronze star and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.

After 4 years of service he returned home to Kentwood working as a machinist at Dibert, Bancroft and Ross. In 1979 he started 46 years of a long and gratifying employment with Emerson Control Valve. Bill was Past Master of Spring Creek Lodge #184. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and a active Sunday school teacher. Bill loved his Lord, his family and his many friends.

He was a great cook, and enjoyed entertaining always ready to host a party or get an invitation to attend one and of course wanted to know how he could help, generous with whatever he could offer. Bill took great pride in his home and land and he instilled that love of the homestead in his children. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and crabbing. His favorite vacations were the annual trips to Grand Isle with his family and friends.

Survived by his wife of 53 years Eugenia Faye Givens Brown; his children Deanna Danielle Brown, LeAnna Paige Brown Geismer, Eugene Hunter Brown (Mindy); grandchildren Kaila Colien Lester and Kason Slater Geismer, sisters Charlotte Brown Rhodus, Suzanne Brown Wall, Cynthia Brown Weems (Stephen) and Priscilla Brown Raborn, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford James Brown and Mary Lea Potts Brown; his son Christopher Slater Brown; brother Jesse James Brown; and sonin-law Bill Geismer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Devin Blades, Keith Bridges, Bruce Bridges, Jesse Wall, Justin Roberts, Calin Buckley and Kason Geismer.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Spring Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
