William Gaylon Brown 1945 - 2025
William Gaylon Brown, 79, of Summit, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family and close friends. Funeral services were held at 2PM on January 29, at Pine Grove Pentecostal Church. Interment was at Pine Grove Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Summit. Rev. R.H. Johnson, Rev. Joshua H. Johnson, Rev. Taylor Leggett, and Rev. Colby White did officiate the services. Marty Roberts, the Ritchey’s, and the Johnson family provided special music. Visitation was held from 6PM until 9PM on January 28, at Pine Grove Pentecostal Church and from 12:30PM until 2PM on January 29, at Pine Grove Pentecostal Church.
Gaylon was preceded in death by his Parents, Tolly & Cloney Bell Roberts Brown; 2 brothers, Chester (Annis) Brown, Clyde (Peggy) Brown; 2 sisters, Naomi (Roger) Campbell, Mary (Ray) Miller; his father-in-law, Hughie Silas Roberts; his mother-in-law, Belva Sandlin Roberts; 1 daughter-inlaw, Stephanie Kyzar Brown; and 1 brotherin-law, Jewel B. Greer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Roberts Brown; 1 son, Ricky Brown; 3 daughters, Rachelle Oliver (Chris), Raqual Jones (David), Raticia Wallace (Jerry); 11 grandchildren, Sandlin Fuller (Brad), Beth Case (Seth), Will Jones (Karis), Kate Leggett, Joan-Quilla White (Colby), Ashton Oliver (Rebecca), Heather Howard (Josh), Taylor Leggett (Emily), Jeremy Brown, Connor Oliver (Shelby), Stephen Brown; 1 special adopted granddaughter, Brooklyn Westmoreland; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Juanita Greer; 1 mother-in-law, Mary Roberts; 6 brother-inlaws, Marty Roberts (Marilyn), Timmy Roberts (Cindy), Ed Young (Tessa), Samuel Roberts (Darla), John Roberts (Leigh Ann), Daniel Roberts (Carlena); and 2 sisterin-laws, Tina Berry (Bill), Lorrie Roberts.
Pallbearers were Will Jones, Ashton Oliver, Taylor Leggett, Connor Oliver, Colby White, and Brad Fuller.
Honorary pallbearers will be his Great Grandsons, and Jamie Allen.
Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit is in charge of arrangements.
